Atreyu and Acri began walking away from Cherrygrove city and onto route 30, when Atreyu said "Hey Acri, how much of a challenge do you think the first gym will be? I mean, you already have a Gyaraods and all, I'd think you'd be pretty confident." He said with a happy look on his face.
Acri thought about it for a moment. "I dont reckon it'll be easy..." She said after some thought. "I need to train Totodile, Pidgey and Gyarados before i would want to challenge it". She brushed her fingers over the balls happily.
"Hmm..." Atreyu thought to himself (But with a Gyarados already she'd be able to take it down easily, I guess she just doesn't realize what kind of power she has residing in that ball on her belt yet...) "Well, I think it's good even though you have a power house like that, that you still wanna train it. I've got my work cut out for me if I wanna beat you." he said as he turned to look around. "Hmm, being the fact it's night time we should be able to find some different pokemon than usual..." he said as he saw something in the night coming toward him. "Whoa!!!" *Zubat appears* "Alright! A new pokemon, a new friend, a new partner in battle." Zubat goes in for an attack at Atreyu, but Atreyu evades it, and thorws a pokeball out. "Let's do this Pidgey!" Pidgey comes out and gives a loud battle cry. "Piiidddgggeeeeyyy!!" Atreyu stops for a moment. "Hmm, it seems pretty wound up, alright, let's do this! Pidgey gust time!" *Pidgey uses gust on Zubat* Zubat evades the attack and goes in for a bite! "Pidgey dodge it!" *Pidgey evades the attack, and uses gust again* "Whoa, calm down there buddy, we should take this slow, a Zubat requires strategy." *Zubat used leach life* "Huh? Why that move, it's so weak on Pidgey, alright let's take it down Pidgey! I want you to hit it HARD with tackle, go!" *Pidgey used tackle* "Alright perfect." *Atreyu threw the pokeball* The ball fell to the ground and starting shaking, and went on for a while until.... Atreyu caught Zubat! "Sweet, a new pokemon for the team, ALRIGHT!!!"
" Wow, a Zubat, i like Crobat...they're cool, maybe it'll evolve into one someday" said Acri smiling. " And i know Gyarados is powerful and all but...I dont think it'll listen to me until i earn its respect...So, If we train together, it might trust me!"
Atreyu said with his eyes closed and with a big grin on his face "I LOVE Crobats myself, I can't wait to get this little guy into training, he'll become one of the best poemon ever! But for now, I'm happy with having a plain ole' Zubat, he may annoy others, but I like 'im."
" You know what?!?" Acri said sadly. " I have used Totodile once since it got her!" Acri reached to her belt and pulled off the Pokeball with the blue water drop and pressed the middle. The ball gained size and she threw it. The small crocodile-like Pokemon jumped out and did a joyful dance reciting its name "Totototo-diiiiile".
"I'm so sorry Totodile, I'll make it up to you, lets go train?" Acri said to the joyous Totodile. Totodile nodded and ran off up the hill. " Hey wait Totodile! Not yet" Acri said running after Totodile.
"Hahaha, well this'll be interesting" Atreyu said as he began to follow. "Alright Acri! Let's see what you've got! Show me a good training session!" He yelled running over to her. "I'll lean myself up against this tree here and watch ya" he said with a wink.
"Uh...okay" Acri said laughing. " Okay Totodile, lets see what you got." Acri looked around and picked up a stick lying on the ground. She stuck it in the ground vertically and stood back. " Okay Totodile, Use Water Gun to knock the stick out of the ground!" She commanded. Totodile inhaled and breathed out water. The attack surged towards the stick and struck it but it didnt knock it over. "Okay thats alright Totodile, try again! Water Gun!" Acri said. Totodile inhaled until its chest stuck out and blew the water out, this time it was more powerful. It surged towards the stick and knocked it into the air. "Thats great work Totodile" Acri said prasing the blue Pokemon.

"Hmm, interesting training method I must admit." Atreyu said under his breath. "Alright, I think I've seen too much already, I'm going to train too. You're doing great though, keep up the good work" he said with another wink, and then walked off.
"I need to find water..." Acri said, thinking about the Gyarados. She ran up the route and saw a cave, next to the cave was a small lake. "That'll do" She said pulling the small ball from her belt and pressing the middle button. "Go, Gyarados!" Acri called throwing the ball. Gyarados was still enraged, it began to charge a Hyper Beam and fired it at Acri who dodge it. "Hey calm down Gyarados! We have a gym battle thats coming up and I know you can help me win it!" yelled Acri to the angry Gyarados. The Pokemon still hadnt calmed down, it breathed in and breathed out a Hydro Pump, the attack was a inch away from hitting Acri. "Totodile, do you reckon you can reason with it?" Acri said with no idea what else to do. Totodile began rambling to Gyarados with its 'Tototodiiiiile'. Gyarados swam around the lake but it was listening. It seemed to have calmed down as it stopped its swimming. " Gyarados, will you listen to me" Acri called. Gyarados nodded. "Thanks Gyarados". Acri bent down to Totodile and whispered thanks. " Okay Gyarados, I know what you have, I dont think i need to train you. But either way, use Hyper Beam on that rock over there" Acri pointed to the large rock by a tree. Gyarados charged and fired the powerful beam. It tore up the ground as it made its way to the rock. The rock was hit and broke into peices. "Awesome work Gyarados, I see you dont need any training. Return" Acri pulled out the ball and the red light engulfed Gyarados.
"Okay Pidgey, its your turn." The smalled bird appeared and flew around Acri's head. " I want to see your speed, Agility!" Pidgey began to fly fast, it disappeared, and reappeared further past, its speed was amazing. "Okay Pidgey turn around and come back here!" Pidgey did the same on the return flight. " Okay I want you to use your best Whirlwind to knock down that tree". Pidgey began to flap its wings, facing the tree. A small whirlwin began to form and it surged towards the tree and up rooted it. "Wow your strong Pidgey. Do you know Aerial Ace?" Pidgey looked at Acri curiously. "Okay then...I'll try to teach you." Acri set up a ring hanging from a tree and explain what Pidgey needed to do. Pidgey then flew up high and began to speed towards the ground, igaining speed each time. Seconds before it hit the ground it uprighted itself and began flew forward even faster, dust flying up around it. Pidgey tried to go through the ring but missed and crashed into the tree. "Oh Pidgey! Are you alright." Pidgey jumped up and said "Pid". "Haha, your just like a Tailow, stubborn." Pidgey flew back up and repeated it, it was so close to get through the ring. "Come on Pidgey, I think you've had enough" Acri said concerned. Pidgey shook its head and tried again. Each time it missed. " Pidgey, I know you want to do it but I dont think your ready!" Pidgey became angry, it flapped as hard as it could to fly up and began to speed towards the ground for the 8th time. "No Pidgey! You'll get Hurt!" Pidgey was tried and it was close to the ground. It didnt have the strength to turn upright. Just as it was about to hit the ground it glowed the purest white. It began to changed shape and it stopped glowing. "Pidgeottooo!" It cried. "Holy shiz, A Pidgeotto!". Pidgeotto flew up and flew towards the ground again. Split second before it hit the ground it disappeared, dust flew up choking Acri. Pidgeotto appeared behind the hoop and flew around joyously. Happy to learn Aerial Ace. "Great work Pidgeotto, you deserve a rest" Acri said prasing Pidgeotto."Return, Totodile you too, Return!" Both Pokemon disappeared back into their Pokeballs.

"Alright" Atreyu said as he reached his destination. "Everybody! Come on out!" he said as he threw his pokeballs into the air. "Piidddgggeeeyyy!!!!" "Cyyndaquuil!" "Catck catck!" All his pokemon came out, ready for action. "Okay Cyndaquil, you're up first, I won't neglect you like Acri does her Totodile" he said jokingly, "Okay Cyndaquil, your training, see that tree? It's coming down!" "Cynda?" Cyndaquil questioned Atreyu, "Huh? What's the matter? All we're going to do is use a couple combos to take down a tree, I don't see..." then Atreyu noticed something. "Oh. I see, you're worried about the pokemon in that tree, good eye, I didn't even see them. Alright then, shall we find one without pokemon?" "Cyndaquil!" "Haha, alright then guys, let's move on." Later on, after a few minutes of searching. "Okay, this looks great, and not a pokemon to be found, perfect. Ready Cyndaquil?" "Cyyynnndaaquiiiiill!!!" Suddenly flames sprouted from its back. "Awesome, looks like you're ready for action, buddy. Let's use that." Atreyu set his sights on the tree in front of him. "Okay, here's how it's going down, Cyndaquil, use ember at the bottom of the tree!" *Cyndaquil used ember* The tree's entire bottom became engulfed in flames. "Good, now show it some muscle, and use tackle at the middle of it!" *Cyndaquil used tackle* "Good, just one more thing, use smokescreen all around the tree, Cyndaquil!" *Cyndaquil used smokescreen* The tree became surounded by a smokescreen. "Perfect, now we wait for it to take affect" he said as the smokescreen absorbed the ember and began burning brilliantly "Okay, one more tackle, this time at the base of the tree. Go!" *Cyndaquil used tackle* The began to fall. The tree had fallen as Atreyu called Cyndaquil back for some rest. "Way to go, you did awesome today" he said while he stared at Cyndaquil's pokeball in his hand.
"Okay Pidgey, it's your turn for training!" "Piiidddgggeeeeyyyy!!!!!" Pidgey cried out, ready for anything, as usual. "Man, I love that energy, okay Pidgey, you're going to use all your power with wing attack and only wing attack, got it?" "Pidgey!" it said with excitement. "Okay, it's time for some good old fashioned battling. Let's find some wild pokemon to face off with..." Just then as they started looking, a strong opponent came from nowhere. "Bee!!!" "Beedrill? Hmm, I guess it must've evolved from weedle while still in the wild. Well, either way, it's one strong customer." "Piiidgggeeeyyyy!!!" it said, still ready as usual. "Right, Pidgey, show it your wing attack! Go!" *Pidgey used wing attack* *Beedrill fainted* "Huh??? Umm....Pidgey?" "Pidgey?" it questioned. "WHAT FREAKING LEVEL ARE YOU?! GEEZ!!! You're strong buddy" Atreyu said as he smiled to Pidgey. "Pidgey, pidgey, pidgey" it said as it seemed more excited than usual. "Well I guess your work's done, huh? Return!" Pidgey went back into its ball and began rest. Atreyu looked at the ball in awe. "I can't believe my secondly obtained pokemon is so good!"
Zubat flew around Atreyu in a circle, eager to train. "Huh? Hahaha, sorry buddy, I got caught up in the moment. Now then, it's time to start your training Zubat." Zubat started flying around faster and faster. "Okay, okay, calm down now, there's a reason I saved you for last, you see, don't take this the wrong way or anything, but you do need the most improving sense I haven't used you in battle yet." Zubat calmed down and came to land on Atreyu's shoulder. "Good" Atreyu said with a smile directed to Zubat. "Now, the reason I saved yours for last is because you need to see my strategies more than the others, so that you know what kind of things others might do, sense you don't have any real battling experience yet. Okay, as for your training, I want you to come with me." Atreyu walked off in the direction of a cave with Zubat still on his shoulder. They arived at the entrance to the Dark Cave on route 31. "Okay, here we are." Zubat flew from his shoulder and into the air. "Alrighty buddy, your training is this, you're going to be the brains of the team, so I'm training your intellect." Zubat came back down. "Catck catck?" it questioned. "No worries, I'll explain it to you. We're going into the Dark Cave, Zubat." They entered the cave, not being able to see a thing but what was right in front of them. "Okay, here's how it's gonna work Zubat, I'm going to call out to the other pokemon in here, mainly the other Zubat, and you are going to dodge them." Zubat nodded and turned to the darkness. "HEY! ZUBAT! COME ON OUT! YOU SUCK!" They began to hear the cries of Zubat all over. "That did it, man they have ego trips, okay Zubat!" Zubat hovered still. "Close your eyes....wait do you even have eyes?? Well anyway, concentrate!" All the Zubat came out. "DODGE!" Almost as in a matrix effect, Zubat avoided every single Zubat coming at him, only without any back bending or anything, just some nice flying ^.^ "Alright! Way to go buddy, uh oh, they're coming back, alright Zubat, do the same thing!" Zubat avoided them all again, but unknown to them there was a Geodude hovering below. "Alright, you're doing great buddy!" Abruptly, the Geodude came out from under and hit Zubat with a rock throw. "Whoa, Zubat you okay?" Zubat circled around the Geodude and came down to use poison fang. "Whoa, that's a high level move there buddy, nice one, let's finish him, eh? Hmm, sense it can use poison fang it should know.... Zubat! Use air cutter! *Zubat uses air cutter* *Geodude faints* "Alright! Way to go, you did awesome, not only did you master your training, but you took down an unexpected opponent with ease!" Well, time to get back, return Zubat!" As Zubat went back into its ball Atreyu turned around and headed for the exit of the cave.
Atreyu had a very successful day of training, and went back to see how Acri was doing.
After his long training ended, Atreyu went out of the Dark Cave and emerged onto route 31, where he saw Acri was at a small lake right next to the cave, so naturally, he ran over to her to see how things were going. But as he was running, he started to slow down and his stomach rumbled. "Oooohh, geez, I need some food man." He ran straight over to Acri and said "Hey! Acri! You done yet? I need some food badly!!!" as he was yelling to her, he tripped. (Damnit, that's no good, I just tripped, didn't I?!) So, he got up, and brushed himself off, only to fall right back down from hunger. "Oh great, I'm too hungry to go on!"
Acri ran over to Atreyu. "Hey are you okay?!?" She asked concerned. "Well lucky i came prepared eh?" Acri took off her backpack and pulled out sandwiches. "Here ya go...You would be soo lost without me ya know..." She said handing one to Atreyu.

Atreyu stood straight up, and said "YES!! Acri, you're a life saver!" with such a big smile on his face. He went over and gave her a big hug at the speed of light, but realized what he was doing, began to blush, let go, and ate his sandwhich quietly.
Atreyu stayed quiet for a second, but regained his head and said "Oh, well, my training went extraordinarily!" He then got up, after already eating his sandwhich, and said "How'd it go for you? I discovered that the pokemon I caught are pretty high leveled for their froms." he said with a grin.
"It went great. Gyarados decided to listen to me...but I'm not going to use it for my Gym Battle. I'll use Totodile and Pideotto" Acri said still chomping on her sandwich.
"Sounds good to me, good luck though, without Gyarados it will be difficult, even if your Pidgey evolved." (Ah, damnit all, her Pidgey evolved, but mine's gotta be more powerful, heh heh, but ah man, I wish I could get someone on my team to evolve.... Zubat most of all...) Atreyu thought to himself.
"I think my Pidgey was a high level but didnt want to evolve cuz it almost pulled off...uhh...The training but then it couldnt so then it evolved and it pulled it off easy." Acri said with satisfaction. "Totodile was great. She calmed down Gyarados!"
"Hmm, Gyarados needed calming down? It doesn't surprise me, you did catch it pretty early for your current level as a trainer." Atreyu got up and starting walking. "Nope, not at all..."
"I MEANT IT DOESN'T SURPRISE ME AT ALL..... HEY WHY HAVEN'T YOU COME OVER HERE YET?? COME ON! LET'S GET TO THE NEXT TOWN! Atreyu said from a distance as he starting walking further. "COME ON OR I'LL LEAVE YA!"
Acri looked up, her eyes were bright and she had a smile on her face. "I'm looking forward to a Gym Battle. It'll be great." She said putting her hands behind her head as she walked. "But the sun is going down, maybe we should make camp?"
"Hmm, why would we make camp when we could stay at the pokemon center? Heh heh, unless, you just want to share a tent with me..... haha, you naughty little thing, you."
Acri stared at Atreyu. "Uh...We're pretty far from Violet City ya know...see my Poke'nav" She said pulled out the yellow navigator. She pressed a few buttons and up came a map and their location on it. She pressed a few more buttons and the distance from there to the Pokemon Centre was more than a hours walk. "See?"
"Wow, and I thought my mom couldn't take jokes. But look, the fact of the matter is there's only one tent, and that's if you brought one. Otherwise, looks like we either have to share one, I stay outside, or neither of us use it. And being the fact that you come prepared, you will get to stay in it one way or the other."
"Yeah, I did at least bring one of those" Atreyu said with a smile. "But uhh, I dunno about yours but mine sucks, I'd rather walk for an hour to get to the pokemon center than freeze while I'm asleep, ya know? So uhh, ehh, it doesn't matter to me, it's up to you, what're we doing?"
"Well i guess it could be interesting walking in the dark and seeing night-time Pokemon. It'll be great!" Acri said undoing her headband and putting it in her bag and taking out a torch just in case. "Come on".
"Haha, a torch, eh? Well to each their own I suppose." Atreyu said as he pulled his hoody out from his backpack. "Well, this'll at least keep me warm on the walk. Hey are you warm enough, Acri?"
Acri had already began pulling out a jacket as Atreyu said it, taking his idea. "I'll be fine thanks". She took her vest off and replaced it with the jacket and began to walk again.
"Great, now I'm the slow one, but this hoody's too warm for the weather, uhh I hate the hot temperatures." Atreyu sped up. "So, I've been wondering, when we do get there, are you gonna train more or go straight for the gym? And if you do train more, like I'm going to, then which of us is going to challenge the leader first?" Atreyu asked, with a very strange look in his eyes.
(Hmm, looks like she feels the same way about it as I do.) "Okay! I'll meet you at the gym once I'm done with my training, and don't worry, I'll try to make it fast." He said with a wink as he walked off.
