Votun had emerged onto the route just before Blackthorn from the dark cave, and walked up to Blackthorn, healing the Wobbufet he caught, and then sending it back to the pc at home. He then saw a couple trainers land from the backs of their pokemon, but didn't pay any mind to it and headed for the Dragon's Den.
Just as Votun entered the Dragon's Den a random Dragonair came up to him, it gestered at him getting on its back, so he did. This Dragonair took him to the shrine in the middle of the den. He got off only to find Clair waiting for him. As he walked up to her she began to say "Hello, Votun. It's been a while since we last met. On the battlefield, I believe it was." Votun looked confused "Umm, yeah, it has been a while... how did you know I'd be here?" he asked her, still confused. "Well, it wasn't bad luck that you wound up here, in Blackthorn from dark cave." Votun's eyes opened up "What?! How did you know that's how I got here?!" he asked anxiously. "Well, this is destiny, but besides that, you remember how you said you'll have an unstopable team of every type of pokemon each one day?" he though for a second and said "Yeah I do, but what's that got to do with anything?" he asked. Clair said, "Well, today is when you start your dragon team. First, however, you have to answer some simple questions for the caretaker of this shrine." Votun puzzled.. "Umm, okay, but, oh well, bring it on!" Clair looked down, "Uhh, still the same as ever I see, very well, this way." Clair leaded Votun into the bottom floor of the shrine.
As they walked down the final set of stairs, Votun saw the elder and caretaker of the shrine.
Caretaker - Ah, so I see, you have come. Very well, let the questions commence! Caretaker - The first, what are pokemon to you, do you see them as pals, underlings, or friends? Votun - I see them as freinds. Caretaker - I see, next. What helps to win battles, strategy, raising properly, or cheating? Votun - I'd say it would be raising properly... Caretaker - I see, next. What kind of people do you wish to battle with your pokemon. weak people, strong people, or anyone? Votun - Anyone that feels up to battling me. Caretaker - Mm, next. What is the most important character for raising a pokemon, love, violence, or knowledge? Votun - I say knowledge on that one. Caretaker - I see, now, the final question. Strong pokemon, weak pokemon, which is more important to you? Votun - Well, honestly I don't care for a pokemon's strength, I battle with my favorites. Now, can you tell me what this was all about? Caretaker - Yes, I will, these questions were to see if you had a pure heart, and you have passed with flying colors. Now, I will present you with a Dratini as your prize; but this is no normal Dratini. Because you answered all of the questions with true pure heartedness, you are going to get a Dratini that has been taught extremespeed. Votun - Whoa, is that even possible?! Caretaker - Normally, no. That's why you should be proud of this honor you are recieving, Votun. Votun - Oh I am! Wait, how do you know my name? Caretaker - Hahaha, well I am the one who told Clair to get you for me. Votun - What?! How do you all know when I'm coming?? Caretaker - Don't worry about that now, all you need to worry about is raising a proper dragon team, when you have done so, I will explain why you are doing this. Now then, in order to do some proper raising I think you should start over on your pokemon journey with only this Dratini as your "starter", understand? Votun - Umm, yeah, but I still don't get this... Caretaker - You needn't worry, you will have your answers soon enough. Votun - Okay then, well I guess I'm okay with it as long as I find out some day... Alright, I'm pumped up for this, this is one heck of a good starter, haha.
Votun finished his conversation with the old caretaker and headed out, back to Newbark town.
